BOB and LayerZero Unlock 1-Click Access to Native BTC for 15,000 Dapps Across 11 Chains, Including Ethereum, Avalanche, BNB and Base

October 1, 2025 By Crypto Reporter PR

BOB has launched the first trust-minimized, 1-click on and offramp connecting native Bitcoin to the 11 LayerZero supported chains for BitGo’s institutional grade wrapped BTC asset.

This streamlined interoperability system lets users easily access native BTC through wBTC.OFT and vice versa, while giving nearly 15,000 decentralized applications on 11 major blockchains, including Ethereum, Avalanche, Base, BNB, and Unichain, simple 1-click access to native BTC’s vast liquidity and userbase via the BOB Gateway SDK. Many of these chains did not previously have direct routes available to native BTC.

By eliminating complex bridging processes and enabling direct conversion to and from native BTC, BOB Gateway simplifies access to the growing multichain DeFi ecosystem built around the wBTC OFT. Powered by BOB’s Bitcoin intents system and LayerZero’s OFT standard, the integration delivers secure, programmable, and composable Bitcoin liquidity across chains. The marriage of Bitcoin intents and general message passing creates a very capital efficient model of interoperability, building on BOB’s recent upgrade of wBTC to the LayerZero OFT standard.

For both institutions and individuals holding native BTC, BOB Gateway enables 1-click transfer to and from wBTC.OFT on 11 chains, for example when depositing in DeFi or returning funds to native BTC to take profit. Additionally, the nearly 15,000 decentralized applications on the 11 wBTC.OFT connected chains now have the opportunity to implement 1-click native BTC deposits via the BOB Gateway SDK. They can abstract away the complexity of DeFi, making even complex positions, such as looping strategies, accessible to institutions and retail users for real BTC DeFi adoption.

Nearly $2.3B in wBTC.OFT has already bridged across 67,000 transfers via LayerZero. Now, with this update, holders can bridge native BTC directly into wBTC.OFT, injecting fresh liquidity into the ecosystem and expanding access.

Alexei Zamyatin, Co-Founder of BOB said: “This upgrade is a major step forward in our mission to make BOB the Gateway to Bitcoin DeFi. By making wBTC.OFT instantly accessible through BOB Gateway, we’re giving thousands of apps across 11 chains an easy, 1-click way to integrate native BTC onramps. This is a strategic move that is directly aligned with our core priorities of improving access to BTC, and delivering a seamless user experience. With native BTC now flowing into wBTC.OFT through BOB, we’re making it easier than ever for people to put their Bitcoin to work in DeFi.”

Simon Baksys, Global VP of BD at LayerZero said: “LayerZero is the leading interoperability infrastructure that allows applications and users to get the assets they want, on the chains they demand. wBTC is already one of the most widely used assets in DeFi, and this integration with BOB Gateway allows for even more utility. By enabling accessibility of native BTC to nearly 15,000 applications across 11 blockchains, we’re excited to see continued growth and demand for one of the most trusted assets in crypto”

Alongside Ethereum, Avalanche, Base, BNB, and Unichain, BOB Gateway also supports native BTC on- and offramps to wBTC.OFT for Soneium, Bera, Optimism, Sei, Sonic and of course, BOB, bringing the total to 11 major chains. This broad multi-chain approach ensures that users and developers can access 1-click Bitcoin DeFi across the leading ecosystems.
