Copy Trading in Prediction Markets: How It Actually Works

July 29, 2026 By Crypto Reporter PR

Copy trading in a prediction market is not a strategy you learn. It is a pipe you turn on between someone else’s positions and your own wallet.

In plain terms: copy trading on a prediction market app means you select a trader from a ranked list, connect your wallet to follow them, and your account automatically opens a proportional Yes or No position every time they open one.

You are not placing the trade yourself. You are mirroring theirs, in real time, at a size scaled to your own balance.

What copy trading means in a prediction market

Prediction markets let traders take Yes or No positions on real-world outcomes, priced in cents against live probability. Copy trading layers a following mechanism on top of that market.

Banana Predict, the prediction market terminal inside the Banana Gun ecosystem at predict.bananagun.io, trades the same Polymarket markets everyone else trades, with the same order book and the same odds. Its Copytrade feature sits on top of that shared liquidity.

Traders come from the Leaderboard, ranked by profit and loss or by trading volume, each with an avatar and a copyable wallet address. You pick from that list, not from a private tip or a guess.

The four steps of a copytrade

The mechanism runs the same way every time, regardless of which trader you follow. It comes down to four steps.

  1. You open the Leaderboard and review a trader’s profit and loss, volume, and category focus.
  2. You connect a wallet, since a connected wallet is required to trade on Banana Predict.
  3. You set up a copytrade against that trader’s wallet address through the Copytrade feature.
  4. When the trader opens a new Yes or No position, your wallet opens a matching position automatically.

Nothing happens between step three and step four until the trader actually acts. A copytrade sits idle if the trader you picked is not currently placing positions right now.

Screen by screen, the setup is exactly as short as that list makes it sound. Copy trade on Banana Predict walks through each of the four steps with the actual interface, from opening the Leaderboard to confirming the first mirrored position.

What proportional actually means

Proportional does not mean identical. If you had a smaller balance than the trader you copy, Copytrade scales the position size to fit your own capital rather than duplicating theirs dollar for dollar.

The direction and the market match exactly. The trader’s Yes becomes your Yes, on the same market, at close to the same moment their order lands.

The size is where your account and theirs diverge. A trader risking a large share of a large balance and you risking the same share of a much smaller balance still end up in the identical market on the identical side, just at different stakes.

That distinction matters more than it sounds. A trader who takes an oversized position relative to their own account is taking on real risk. Copying them proportionally reproduces that risk profile inside your account too, scaled but not softened.

What copying does not solve

Copy trading removes the work of watching a market yourself. It does not remove the two decisions that actually determine your outcome.

First, who you copy still matters more than the fact that you are copying at all. A copytrade against a weak trader executes flawlessly and still loses money.

Second, how much of your balance you commit to any single copytrade is entirely on you. The feature will mirror a position size proportionally, but it will not tell you whether that allocation is sensible against everything else in your wallet.

Copying also inherits resolution risk exactly as the original position carries it. When a market resolves under Polymarket’s UMA-style process, your copied position resolves the same way the trader’s original one does, win or lose.

Setting the first one up

Start on the Leaderboard, not on Copytrade. Sort by profit and loss, then by volume, and look at more than one name before you commit to following anyone.

Cross-check a candidate against the Wallet Tracker to see their broader on-chain activity, then check the Social Tracker if they have a public presence worth watching.

Once you have a trader you are comfortable following, open their profile from the Leaderboard, set up the copytrade, and size your allocation before the first position lands rather than after. The mechanism will handle the mirroring. The judgment about who and how much stays yours.
