FC Manchester City launches NFT token

March 21, 2021 By Crypto Reporter

Token holders will get access to VIP rewards, promos, voting rights and other perks

English Premier League club, Manchester City, has partnered up with Socios.com platform to launch the Manchester City $CITY Fan Token. The club announced that City fans registered with Cityzens service will receive a free $CITY token. Token users will be eligible for promos, closed voting events and other benefits.

“We recognise the significant interest in blockchain and the opportunity it provides us to engage further our global fanbase and we are confident that the Manchester City Fan Token will prove a popular addition to our digital line-up,” said Stephan Cieplik, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships Sales, City Football Group.

Socios.com offers fan tokens with access to a number of football clubs. The service is owned by blockchain platform Chilliz. In February, another football club, AC Milan, launched its own fan token. Chiliz has also assisted other clubs, like PSG, Juventus and Barcelona, with issuing their fan tokens.
