IRF Acquires Nomina and Its SolverNet Intent Execution Protocol

September 16, 2026 By GlobeNewswire

Acquisition brings a live, production-tested, multichain intent execution layer to IRF's mission of building DeFi infrastructure for AI agents

New York, NY, Sept. 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IRF, a research organization focused on operating infrastructure that brings decentralized finance to mainstream agents, today announced the acquisition of Nomina. The acquisition includes the technology, intellectual property, brand, and infrastructure, most notably SolverNet, Nomina's intent execution protocol.

IRF believes the next wave of decentralized finance (DeFi) will be AI agents, not humans, and is assembling the infrastructure to make that future real.

Nomina’s infrastructure has processed more than 7.5 million transactions to date. With this acquisition, IRF gains a working, battle-tested execution layer rather than building one from scratch.

Intents are the abstraction that makes DeFi usable for agents: an agent states a desired outcome, a network of solvers competes to deliver it, and the underlying complexity, like routing, bridging, gas management, is handled beneath the surface.

SolverNet is:

  • Live and production tested, with a track record of over 7.5 million processed transactions
  • Multichain, operating across Ethereum mainnet and major Layer 2 networks including Arbitrum, Base, and Optimism
  • Already integrated by protocols including Symbiotic, Gearbox Protocol, and Cygnus Finance

IRF will use SolverNet as the foundation for a new generation of mass-market DeFi strategies, designed not for crypto natives, but for agents.

The first initiative will use SolverNet to let agents deploy capital into onchain yield, move value across chains and currencies, and run automated allocation and rebalancing. All without agents needing infrastructure knowledge. Each strategy will be expressed as a single intent and fulfilled by SolverNet's solver network, giving an agent one clean outcome rather than a sequence of manual transactions.

IRF plans to roll out this technology in the coming months as part of a broader roadmap of products for agentic finance.

About IRF

IRF is a research organization focused on owning and operating infrastructure that brings decentralized finance to mainstream agents. IRF's thesis is that the next wave of DeFi users will be AI agents, and IRF is assembling the pieces to make that true.
