Gold Token SA, the MKS PAMP-owned issuer of DGLD®, announced the native launch of DGLD on Solana, with access through SwissBorg and on-chain liquidity managed by Arrakis. According to RWA.xyz, tokenized gold is now the second-largest tokenized real-world asset class after U.S. Treasuries.
Each DGLD token represents direct co-ownership of one fine troy ounce of allocated PAMP® gold refined and securely vaulted in Switzerland, with physical delivery available from as little as one gram.
Already available on Ethereum and Base, DGLD is now native on Solana, extending access to investment-grade physical gold through SwissBorg’s crypto exchange aggregator and wealth management platform.
“DGLD brings gold, the oldest asset in finance to the world’s newest financial rail: on-chain”, said Kurt Hemecker, CEO of Gold Token SA, “Launching natively on Solana through SwissBorg makes allocated Swiss gold easier to own, move and use while laying the groundwork for applications across collateral, treasury management and DeFi.”
A fully integrated Swiss gold structure
DGLD combines the heritage, expertise and physical infrastructure of MKS PAMP’s vertically integrated precious metals operations with the efficiency, transparency and technological infrastructure of a multi-chain token.
Issued by Gold Token SA under Swiss jurisdiction, the gold allocated to DGLD holders is refined and vaulted in Switzerland. Rather than holding an unsecured contractual claim against the issuer, DGLD holders receive direct co-ownership rights in allocated physical gold under Swiss law, providing a sovereign jurisdictional framework.
Native issuance on Solana
DGLD has been developed as a native Solana token using the Token-2022 standard, rather than as a bridged or wrapped asset. This enables DGLD to benefit from Solana’s speed and low transaction costs while preserving its existing legal, operational and physical framework.
The token uses a supply-by-chain model, with each blockchain’s tokens backed by their own dedicated, individually verifiable gold bars.
Deploying natively on each chain, without bridges or wrapped tokens, removes bridge risk, one of the most exploited attack surfaces in digital assets.
Expanded access through SwissBorg
The addition of DGLD to SwissBorg responds to growing demand for direct access to institutional-grade physical gold. SwissBorg users can buy and sell DGLD alongside other digital assets, gaining access to allocated PAMP gold with transparent on-chain ownership and rights protected under Swiss law.
The partnership also brings together two Swiss companies. SwissBorg has always valued working with local Swiss partners, where shared standards build trust and a closer connection with its community.
“Our community is looking for direct access to high-quality physical Swiss gold through a token”, said Alexander Petoud, Chief Commercial Officer at SwissBorg. “DGLD delivers this through allocated PAMP gold refined and vaulted in Switzerland. Its launch on Solana makes this sovereignty-neutral store of value more accessible within the digital economy.”
On-chain liquidity from day one
Arrakis Finance, leading on-chain market-maker, actively manages liquidity in ranges where trading happens using cutting-edge technology leveraging the Hadron PropAMM. This approach provides deep liquidity & improves execution, allowing participants to access Swiss-vaulted gold with the level of reliability expected from a physical precious-metals market.
“Tokenized gold becomes useful when it can move and trade on-chain as easily as any native crypto-asset.” said Raphael Mankopf, Managing Director at Arrakis. “For DGLD on Solana, we manage liquidity through our custom PropAMM, concentrating it where trading actually happens. Tokenized gold needs that market infrastructure to be efficiently traded and not just held.”
