Projected Top-10 NFL Draft Pick Kayvon Thibodeaux Becomes First Football Player to Launch Their Own Cryptocurrency

October 2, 2021 By Crypto Reporter PR

University of Oregon defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux today made history as the first football player to launch their own cryptocurrency. His personal cryptocurrency, $JREAM, is now live on Rally.

Fans of Thibodeaux who purchase $JREAM will be given exclusive access to a host of benefits including an active Discord community and exclusive merchandise through The Players Trunk. Thibodeaux has also committed 20% of the initial supply of tokens and 100% of weekly activity rewards earned to his organization, The Jream Foundation, which aims to educate, mentor, empower, and instill confidence into underprivileged youth.

“Launching $JREAM allows me to bring my fans with me to any platform, from college to the NFL,” said Thibodeaux. “My fans have grown alongside of me and I want to use this launch as a way to give back to them while supporting causes that mean a lot to me through the JReam Foundation.”

Projected to be a high first-round draft pick in the 2022 NFL draft, Kayvon’s decision to launch his own social token signifies the beginning of an exciting era for college athletes. Following the NCAA’s name, image, likeness policy change earlier this year, young, talented athletes are now able to explore innovative ways to monetize their communities and give back to their supporters.

“We’re thrilled to see young athletes exploring the ways in which crypto can facilitate deeper connections with fans,” said Nick Millman, VP of Partnerships at Rally. “Innovators like Kayvon are reinventing how athletes and fans interact.”

Rally empowers the next generation of athletes, celebrities, digital creators, and brands, to launch their personal digital currencies through the creation of sustainable, independent, economies of their fans. Creators are able to monetize their community with their personal token and NFTs and in return, fans gain access to exclusive benefits like unreleased content, private communities, backstage access, early access to tickets, and exclusive merchandise.
