WAX Studios, a gaming and blockchain services studio created by the founders of the WAX Blockchain, today announces Music Mogul, a new, strategy-driven, play-and-own (P&O) non-fungible token (NFT) game conceived for music lovers to discover, manage and earn with a roster of talented musicians.
Music Mogul is the second project from Wax Studios, and follows the immensely popular, Blockchain Brawler NFT collection that has achieved more than $11 million in auction sales to date. Music Mogul’s distinctive art is designed by Cub Studio, the same art-house behind the Blockchain Brawlers art.
The game will feature new mechanics not seen before in P&O, requiring strategizing and decision-making by players on an hourly, daily, and weekly basis. Those daily engagements will give the players more flexibility and choices during the weekly PvPvP competitions.
To participate, players acquire talent in the form of a pack of NFT musicians with the first pack sale happening on June 28th. Each pack contains a random mix of 25 NFTs that can come in five different levels of rarities — ranging from one to five stars. The more artists recruited, at a variety of star levels, the better chance of building a super-successful music empire.
The Music Mogul Star Maker allows for upgrading players’ artists by blending lower-level NFTs into higher-level ones. This is an essential part of the record label empire-building experience. Through blending, players have the power to upgrade their entertainers and get them known and admired across the world.
Prior to the launch of the game, players will be able to see their position on a Power Score Leaderboard, where participants can view their inventory score and size up the competition.
Music Mogul is the second offering from WAX Studios and follows the immensely popular Blockchain Brawlers — the world’s first blockchain-based wrestling game, which garnered over $500 million in trade volume in the first month of launch.
Wax Studios is headed up by Michael Rubinelli, a 25-year veteran of the gaming industry and alumni of Disney, Playdom, Electronic Arts, and THQ. Michael Rubinelli said: “Who hasn’t dreamed of making it big in show business? This is a chance to experience the thrill of the big time. As we did with Blockchain Brawlers, Music Mogul puts the game experience first. P&O puts the emphasis on game playing. That has to be the reason why people start up. The ability to earn is an important addition but comes about from enjoying the game.”
Through its carbon-neutral blockchain, WAX is fast becoming a powerhouse in the Play-and-Earn and NFT gaming sectors. The WAX blockchain currently has over 12,000,000 active user accounts and boasts six blockchain games in the top 25 by users, including the actual top 3. WAX also cites the most activity, with over 26 million daily operations according to Blocktivity.
