BlockDAG’s Super App Launch in September Fuels 2100x ROI Speculation While Optimism & Arbitrum Show Weak Momentum

August 4, 2026 By CryptoReporter

Layer 2 networks were expected to drive Ethereum’s next growth phase, but this August that outlook seems paused for two major names. Arbitrum keeps adding key integrations, yet ARB trades near recent lows. Optimism has started a fresh governance phase, but OP still sits close to its lowest levels.

BlockDAG (BDAG) moves in a different direction, confirming a September launch for its Super App, offering a fixed event instead of waiting for price movement. For those reviewing the best cryptos to buy based on near-term clarity instead of uncertain breakouts, this difference is worth noting now.

Arbitrum (ARB): Expanding Use, Weak Price Movement

Arbitrum remains one of Ethereum’s most used Layer 2 systems, with its technology gaining wider adoption. MetaMask recently added support for Robinhood Chain, built using Arbitrum’s Orbit framework, allowing many wallet users to manage assets, including tokenized stocks, through its network. Robinhood Chain has driven higher activity since its July 1 mainnet launch, while Arbitrum’s ArbOS 51 “Dia” upgrade, active since January, introduced multi-resource tracking to separate compute, data, and storage costs for better efficiency.

Even with these gains, ARB has not improved much. It trades near $0.09, staying in a bearish range across all major charts, while a token unlock of over 92 million ARB set for August 16 adds short-term supply pressure. The network continues adding real use cases, but price still focuses on holding support instead of rising.

Optimism (OP): Governance Growth, Price Still Low

Optimism continues expanding its OP Stack reach, with regulated groups such as Kraken, Bitpanda, Mitsui, and Toss building on it, while its buyback plan approved in January directs Superchain revenue toward OP purchases. The network also launched Season 8 of its governance system on August 1, adding wider voting and auto-pass features to improve decentralization.

Despite this steady progress, OP dropped to a new all-time low near $0.083, partly affected by Base moving away from the OP Stack earlier this year. It now trades close to $0.09, with analysts watching for a possible double-bottom pattern but no confirmed recovery yet. Optimism keeps gaining strong partners, but price has not responded.

BlockDAG (BDAG): Confirmed Launch Timeline in Focus

While Arbitrum and Optimism wait for price to reflect their progress, BlockDAG presents something clear: certainty. The Super App powered by RedotPay has a confirmed launch set for September 2026, combining mining, wallet, staking, trading, Casino access, transfers, and both virtual and physical payment cards into one system. This is not a future idea but a scheduled event, arriving about six weeks after BlockDAG Exchange launches in August.

The design of the Super App explains its importance. All parts of the BlockDAG system, including mining rewards, staking returns, and Casino earnings, connect within one interface, allowing users to turn balances into spendable card payments without leaving the network. This type of closed system is something many networks are still trying to build.

The wider system continues to align with this plan. The mainnet runs on GHOSTDAG consensus with full EVM compatibility, claims remain active across Batches 1 through 7, and over 10 billion BDAG is currently staked. Mining hardware continues reaching 130 countries, while the X1 mobile app has passed 4 million users.

Analysts comparing the $0.000000017 entry price with the $0.025 buyback price suggest a possible 2100x outcome, though this remains uncertain. With a confirmed September launch, BlockDAG’s next step is based on timing rather than guesswork.

Key Takeaways

Arbitrum and Optimism both continue to achieve real progress, including major integrations and growing adoption, but their prices have not followed. ARB trades near $0.09 while managing supply pressure, and OP remains close to its all-time low despite strong partnerships.

BlockDAG presents a different case: a Super App with a fixed September launch, over 10 billion BDAG staked, and a global mining network already active. For those comparing the best cryptos to buy based on clear timelines instead of uncertain price action, this confirmed schedule keeps BlockDAG in focus.
