How to look for a reliable crypto casino

August 22, 2022 By Crypto Reporter PR

While crypto casinos are far from a new thing – and their numbers grow seemingly with each passing day – it’s fair to say that there isn’t a lot of knowledge around them in the wider population right now. While casinos handling fiat payments are advertised far and wide, and are even household names in a lot of places, even the biggest names on the crypto casino front are somewhat hamstrung by the fact that they are casinos, and even more so by being crypto-specific.

This does make it hard for potential crypto bettors to make their choices. Unless you do a lot of groundwork it’s difficult to know which Bitcoin casino has been in action for close to a decade, and which one sprung up last week in someone’s garage. And it is important to know a bit about these things, because after all, you are going to be trusting them with your hard-earned coins. It makes sense that you’d want to vet them a bit. Fortunately that’s something you can do with a minimum of fuss, and it just means answering a few questions. If they offer service for a range of coins including green crypto, and score well on the following, they’re worth your time.

Do they have a licence?

This is a tricky one. A standard fiat casino will find it easy to get their choice of licenses as long as they’re operating above board because the rules of fiat currencies are long-established. A crypto casino will find it harder because a lot of countries simply haven’t regulated cryptocurrencies and can’t license operators. However, a good crypto casino will at least have gained a license from the Curacao gaming board, showing that they go to the important lengths of ensuring they handle money correctly and offer recourse to customers who have issues.

Do they offer fair games?

Some online casinos have taken a lead on the issue of fairness in games, because there have been issues with disreputable casinos running rigged games and then disappearing. While the licensing process should deal with this issue, good crypto casinos will go further and offer Provably Fair games, which put their code out there for everyone to see and can be vetted for fairness. This is a step beyond what is asked of casinos, and it’s an encouraging sign when a crypto casino has Provably Fair games on its site. It shows they are thinking about the right things.

Do they have good customer service?

It’s easy to see from the number of new crypto casinos that there is excitement over the potential profit to be had from running one. And where profit can be made, there is often a rush to find ways of benefiting from that profit without putting in place measures to protect customers. A good crypto casino will invest in development and infrastructure – of which customer support is an essential element – before it starts promoting itself as a new crypto casino. Look into the customer support on offer from any casino before handing your money over to them. You’ll be glad you did in the long run.
