Trading of tokenized equities reached a record $15.6 billion in September, rising 16.4% from the previous month as activity in blockchain-based stocks continued to expand, according to a CoinDesk Research report published Oct. 6.

The September figure surpassed the previous record of $15.4 billion set in July, highlighting the rapid growth of on-chain trading in tokenized stocks and equities.
Robinhood emerged as the largest venue by trading volume, with activity surging 407% to $6.57 billion. Its share of the tokenized-equity market jumped to 42% in September from 9.7% in August, according to CoinDesk Research.
Binance’s bStocks ranked second, with volume falling 45.5% to $5.42 billion, giving it a 34.7% market share. xStocks followed with $2.11 billion, while Coinbase recorded $804 million in volume.
The growth in trading activity was accompanied by an expansion in the value of tokenized equities. The market capitalization of tokenized stocks and equities increased 13.7% to a record $4.87 billion in September, raising their share of the broader tokenized real-world-asset market to 14.2% from 12.4%.
Among tokenized-equity platforms, Securitize led by assets under management with $1.62 billion, followed by Ondo with $1 billion and xStocks with $874 million.
The broader tokenized real-world-asset market saw a shift in composition during September. Tokenized bond and money-market funds declined 8.1% to $17.3 billion, while private credit increased 7.15% to $5.62 billion and tokenized commodities rose 2.13% to $6.43 billion.
The record equity-trading volume comes as financial institutions and crypto platforms increasingly develop infrastructure for blockchain-based securities markets. The September data suggests that tokenized equities are becoming a larger part of the rapidly expanding on-chain real-world-asset sector.
