OKX Europe has opened USDT deposits in Europe along with a one-way conversion feature that lets stranded USDT holders move their funds onto a licensed exchange and convert to USDC, the most widely used MiCA-authorized stablecoin in the EEA.
USDT isn’t authorized under MiCA, and with the transition period over most people in Europe have limited options to easily convert it to a regulated stablecoin.
For USDT holders elsewhere, the timing hasn’t been theirs to choose. Most platforms have already made the call for them: blocking the deposit outright, or fixing a date to automatically convert remaining balances without providing their customers any say.
OKX Europe’s new flow hands that choice back. Deposit USDT on its licensed venue and convert to USDC on your own schedule.
OKX customers can deposit USDT directly into their OKX Europe account and then convert it to USDC in just a few clicks. USDC is already the most liquid MiCA regulated stablecoin across Europe order books, so converted funds are ready to trade or move into euros right away.
“Most USDT holders in Europe are getting squeezed in two ways: platforms blocking the deposit outright, or converting it on their own clock,” said Erald Ghoos, CEO of OKX Europe. “We are offering a way to convert on your terms, and stay in crypto while you do it.”
