Croatia’s top food retailer Konzum now accepts cryptocurrencies

December 2, 2021 By Crypto Reporter

Konzum, Croatia’s largest food retailer, has enabled an option of paying with cryptocurrencies in its online shops.

“Paying with cryptocurrencies is currently possible in our online shops, but soon we plan to introduce it in other shops across the country,” Konzum said in a statement.

From now, customers can pay in nine cryptocurrencies: BTC, ETH, BCH, EOS, DAI, XRP, XLM, USDT and USDC.

To implemented the new payment option, Konzum partnered with a local crypto payment processor, Electrocoin, to implement PayCek, a system that allows merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments.

Konzum is part of the Fortenova Grupa which is the biggest food producer and retailer in the Balkan region, reported Reuters.
