Marinade Labs, the development company behind Solana’s first, largest, and most widely used staking protocol, is the first staking provider to be named in a U.S. Solana ETF filing. Canary Capital Group LLC (“Canary Capital”), a digital asset-focused investment firm, has amended the prospectus for Canary Marinade Solana ETF to name Marinade Select as its exclusive staking provider.Today, Marinade Labs is also unveiling Marinade Select, which aims to be the industry’s first compliant, high-efficiency staking marketplace with a curated set of validators, designed specifically for institutional investors. If approved, Marinade Select will be the exclusive staking solution used by Canary Marinade Solana ETF.
As noted in Canary Capital’s amended S-1 filing, Canary Marinade Solana ETF intends to rely on Marinade Select to provide a secure, compliant path for the ETF to participate in Solana’s Proof of Stake process. Designed specifically for institutional use, Marinade Select features a curated set of validators with verified identity, strong performance, and zero tolerance for malicious MEV (Maximal Extractable Value), creating a trusted foundation for large-scale participation in the Solana ecosystem. Importantly, Marinade Select also creates a pathway for smaller, highly professional validators, often cut off from institutional flows, to access meaningful delegation and visibility. This groundbreaking solution seeks to streamline the process by eliminating the need for organizations to set up relationships with verified validators manually.
“Being selected as the exclusive staking provider for a U.S. Solana ETF is not just a milestone for us at Marinade, but it’s a major achievement for compliant, institutional-grade staking as a whole,” said Michael Repetný, CEO of Marinade Labs. “With Marinade Select, we’re creating a smarter path for institutional stakers, one that aligns high performance with compliance.”
This new staking marketplace offers organizations a secure and straightforward way to participate in the Proof of Stake process on the Solana network. Stakers retain control over their SOL through a non-custodial framework, with delegations distributed across a curated set of medium-sized validators. This structure further protects staker rewards, ensures accountability, and reinforces the product’s compliance-first design.
Marinade Select differs from Marinade’s Native Staking product in that it is built specifically for institutional clients seeking greater assurance around compliance, performance, and security. While Marinade continues to support an open validator model through Native’s Stake Auction Marketplace (SAM), Marinade Select serves institutions that require a more selective set.
“The launch of Marinade Select – which, if approved, will power the Canary Marinade Solana ETF – marks a pivotal step in Solana’s evolution as an institutional-grade ecosystem,” said Hadley Stern, Chief Commercial Officer at Marinade Labs. “We are removing key adoption hurdles for enterprises by delivering a staking solution that speaks their language. We aim to offer a regulatory compliant, secure, and operationally efficient model that represents a step towards bringing real institutional scale to Solana staking.”
With several years of experience developing staking technologies and serving over 10 million SOL (~$2 billion USD) worth of stake, Marinade Labs is the logical partner to drive institutional-scale adoption of Solana staking. Following its recent integration with BitGo to extend its Solana staking offerings to institutions, Marinade Native has rapidly grown to become one of the largest staking solutions on Solana, offering institutions and retail users a way to stake securely while reinforcing the decentralization of the Solana network. Marinade Native is accessible through its new institutional partners including Copper and Zodia, further signaling increased demand for compliant, non-custodial staking. Along with Marinade Select, Marinade introduced its Instant Unstake feature, further expanding its suite of institutional-grade staking solutions.
