AS Roma football club to issue its own fan tokens

July 26, 2019 By Crypto Reporter

AS Roma announced the launch of fan tokens on Socios platform, the first of a kind blockchain-based mobile app for sports and entertainment fans.

The move will allow club supporters to vote on certain decisions, like choosing the name of a club facility, make decisions over certain pre-match activities at the Stadio Olimpico, as well as decide which player will feature in a live Twitter Q&A.

The token will be priced at 2 euros during an upcoming Fan Token Offering (FTO) this autumn. To take part in the sale, a participant will first have to get CHZ, Socios’ native tokens traded on BitMax, KuCoin and Binance DEX.

Fan tokens can also be earned by frequent interaction with the club via the app or hunted for free through the app’s augmented-reality geo-location feature Token Hunt.

AS Roma isn’t the only club interacting with fans through crypto. Socios has already secured partnerships for blockchain-based fan tokens Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus and West Ham United.
