700,000 hotels to accept bitcoin as Expedia and Travala become partners

July 13, 2020 By Crypto Reporter

Travala, an online travel booking platform, has partnered with Expedia, allowing users to pay with bitcoin and a number of altcoins.

From now, Travala users can choose from more than 700,000 Expedia Group hotels and accommodations and pay with 30+ cryptocurrencies, including BTC and ETH.

“Our aim is to support Travala to scale their business faster than ever before,” said Alfonso Paredes, Senior Vice President at Expedia Group. “Through our expansive travel supply, partner support and cutting-edge technology, we specialize in helping partners like Travala build fantastic experiences for their travelers.”

Travala, a blockchain-based travel booking platform launched in 2017 in the UK, offers over 2,000,000 properties in 230 countries and territories. In May 2020 Travala merged with Binance-backed cryptocurrency-friendly flight booking portal TravelByBit, to create one of the world’s largest blockchain-based travel agencies.
