SONM partners with decentralized cloud storage platform Storj

November 17, 2017 By Crypto Reporter

Storj was chosen by SONM (Supercomputer Organized by Network Mining) for integration into its fog computing platform.

As mentioned in the updated version of the SONM roadmap, fog computing infrastructure requires something called “object storage”. Recently, SONM development team determined that Storj, the decentralized object storage platform, will serve this purpose well, meeting all the requirements to be integrated into SONM.

Storj is a peer-to-peer, distributed cloud storage network which implements client-side encryption. This allows users to transfer and share data without being reliant on a third party storage provider.

This week, the teams at SONM and Storj signed a technical agreement, and are ready to announce their strategic cooperation. The agreement will enable uploading and downloading of computing tasks on the system, making the tasks easily accessible both for the fog computing power buyers and sellers.
