Fogo, a Solana Virtual Machine-compatible Layer 1 blockchain purpose-built for onchain trading, launched its public mainnet with over 10 decentralized applications (dApps) already live and immediate listings on seven major exchanges. The mainnet launch follows a successful strategic token sale through Binance, which sold 2% of FOGO tokens at a $350M valuation – approximately $7M – to provide Fogo Foundation funding.
The sale concluded earlier this week, with token settlement, airdrop distribution, and mainnet launch all occurring simultaneously today.
Demonstrating market-leading performance from day one, Fogo has already delivered throughput of more than 1,200 transactions per second with the first application on mainnet, alongside 40-millisecond block times – engineered for ultra-low latency, near-instant finality, and enterprise-grade scalability.
“We’re launching Fogo with live applications, proven performance metrics, and immediate liquidity across major exchanges,” said Doug Colkitt, Co-Founder of Fogo. “We designed Fogo to be user-first and to meaningfully involve the builders and traders who have been building with us from day one.”
Prior to today’s mainnet launch, Fogo consistently topped Chainspect’s performance leaderboard for several weeks during its testnet phase, validating its technical capabilities under real-world conditions. Fogo’s public Testnet launch in July 2025 came after a private Testnet in March and a community-first funding round via Echo in January 2025, where the protocol raised $8M in just under two hours.
Technical differentiators and specifications
Fogo’s mainnet debuts with technical capabilities specifically optimized for high-frequency and institutional-grade trading environments, including:
- Fogo Sessions enables wallet-agnostic connectivity, gas-free trading, and enhanced user security
- 40-millisecond block times enabling real-time trade execution – up to 18x faster than other L1s like Solana and Sui
- Over 1,200 transactions per second from one app on mainnet
- Reduced MEV through architectural design
- Solana Virtual Machine (SVM) compatibility for seamless developer onboarding
Live ecosystem and exchange listings
At mainnet launch, over 10 dApps are live on Fogo, including:
- Valiant (decentralized exchange)
- Pyron (borrow/lend)
- Brasa (liquid staking)
- Fogolend (borrow/lend)
- Moonit (token launchpad)
FOGO tokens are immediately tradable on major exchanges including Binance, OKX, Bybit, Bitget, Gate.io, MEXC, LBANK, and Backpack.
Community ownership and what’s next
Fogo has prioritized community ownership from the outset, with a token distribution model that emphasizes early supporters and ecosystem participants over institutional investors. Effective immediately, participants in the Fogo Flames points program can convert accumulated points into FOGO tokens, with eligibility snapshots already captured for:
- Fogo Fishing testnet users
- Portal Bridge (Wormhole) USDC bridge users
- Fogo Flames points program participants
Fogo represents a fundamental rethinking of blockchain infrastructure for trading applications. By combining SVM-level performance, innovative MEV mitigation, and lightning-fast finality, Fogo is positioned to become a preferred platform for decentralized exchanges, trading protocols, and financial applications requiring institutional-grade performance.
The network plans to double its current dApp count over the coming months, with additional ecosystem announcements expected in the coming weeks.
