Zodia Solutions, the institutional digital asset infrastructure platform, and Ownera, the multi-chain orchestration network for tokenized assets and cash built on the open FinP2P protocol, announced a collaboration to bring tokenised collateral workflows into production at regulated financial institutions.
Ownera’s routers will carry the collateral instruction between counterparties – and the custodians, lenders and cash providers around them – across whichever ledgers each institution uses. Zodia Solutions will enable banks to ensure the instruction is validated and enforced prior to settlement, applying policy checks, credit and limit checks, asset locking, reconciliation and reporting within the institution’s own environment.
Without that orchestration, every new ledger becomes another integration, another reconciliation and another pool of collateral that cannot move. Ownera removes the need to ‘bet’ on a winning chain. An institution connects once and can transact with every other participant on the FinP2P network, with the value of that connection growing as the network grows.
Collateral mobility has emerged as the leading use case for tokenisation in regulated markets. Banks, asset managers and FMIs move substantial volumes every day to support derivatives, securities financing and other capital markets transactions, while margin calls arrive across time zones and outside settlement windows. More than half of firms reportedly face collateral and margining issues, and the US market alone could reportedly realise USD 54 million in operational savings without sacrificing risk control or income – highlighting the scale of tokenised collateral potential in this space.
Sandbox exercises in the US and EU have formalised the legal, technology and operational mechanisms involved in collateral mobility; taking those workflows into production is a now question of controls, and that is the layer now provided by this collaboration.
Craig Perrin, CCO at Zodia Custody said: “Collateral is where institutions will feel the value of tokenisation first, and our role is to give them the controls to act on it with confidence. Institutions already have well-established parameters governing how collateral moves, and this offering applies those same parameters to digital assets, on infrastructure each institution runs under its own brand, licence and governance.”
Natasha Benson, Chief Operating Officer & Head of Tokenized Capital Market Solutions at Ownera, added: “Collateral moves between institutions, not inside one of them, so the infrastructure has to work across every ledger our clients use rather than ask the market to standardise on one. That is what our routers do, and it is why an institution connects to FinP2P once instead of building a new integration for every chain. What they told us they needed next was the ability to apply their own risk and compliance controls before a transaction settles. Zodia Solutions already provides that layer to global banks, and combining it with our orchestration gives those institutions a direct path into production.”
Together, Ownera and Zodia Solutions enable the next phase of institutional market infrastructure, supporting the growing convergence of traditional and tokenised assets. As initiatives across the industry, including those led by organisations such as Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation (DTCC), validate the shift towards digital asset markets, the partnership delivers a scalable framework for asset and collateral mobility across jurisdictions. This allows institutions to deploy tokenised assets seamlessly between markets and counterparties while maintaining the governance, controls and regulatory obligations they rely on today.
