Gamee, a leading mobile games developer and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, today announces the launch of the Polygon-based Arc8 the play-to-earn mobile esports platform to 1.3 million pre-registered users. The launch of Arc8 will be closely followed by the platform’s first NFT pre-sale, G-bots — a collection of 1,000 in-game characters playable in exclusive tournaments within the Arc8 App.
Powered by Polygon’s full-stack scaling solution, Arc8 is a high-adrenaline mobile esports platform where players compete in games and earn rewards. Players use GMEE tokens to participate in Arc8’s 1v1 matches and tournaments and to purchase Arc8 non-fungible tokens (NFTs) that can be used in-game.
The NFT-based play-to-earn platform will kick off by holding one-on-one esports competitions and will soon unveil a series of group tournaments for G-Bots, which are upgradeable NFT game characters that will unlock expanded functionality as they level up and that will grant owners access to exclusive play-to-earn tournaments on the platform. GMEE tokens can be purchased and staked for rewards. These tokens also have governance functions, facilitating voting on Gamee’s future roadmap along with the distribution of prizes and rewards pools.
Earlier this month, a limited beta version of Arc8 attracted 1.3 million users within three weeks and served as the gateway to the launch. In this early phase, Arc8 became #3 Game across all chains and the #1 Dapp on the Polygon chain, according to Dappradar.
Commenting on its rapid growth rate, Bozena Rezab, CEO of GAMEE, said: When our team set out to design a new NFT game, we prioritized ‘play-to-earn’ capabilities, cost-effectiveness, and ease of use, and we have been overwhelmed by the positive response. Today, many games players are getting their first taste of a decentralized community on Arc8, and many have never previously used a blockchain wallet. This is a clear indication that Arc8 is fulfilling a significant role in growing the blockchain gaming market.”
Gamee chose to port Arc8 over to Polygon earlier this month after Ethereum transaction fees became untenable. Since the migration, Arc8 has been a major driving force for the Polygon chain, contributing to a spike in wallets on the chain where the number of daily active wallets exceeded those on the Ethereum main chain.
Arc8 will also play host to GAMEE’s upcoming NFT game characters G-Bots. G-Bots are unique Polygon-based playable and upgradeable game characters designed for the new era of gaming, where players own in-game items such as currency or game characters. They also benefit from digital property rights.
Each G-Bot comes with a unique set of stats that play a significant role in all G-Bot games. The combination of stats is algorithmically generated based on their rarity, making each G-Bot different.
Eventually, the G-Bots Metaverse will have decentralized ownership, starting from G-Bot game characters and continuing to various game-related real estate, whose owners will shape the future and experience of the game.
The G-Bots pre-sale will launch on November 2nd, 1 pm UTC, with 1,000 NFT packs containing G-Bot designs that will not be available in the future. During the event, players will be able to upgrade their G-Bots, create new ones with a breeding mechanism, play & earn rewards, as well as access exclusive content.
Martin Zakovec, Head of Content, GAMEE, commented: “We are excited to bring G-Bots to the market so soon after launch and proud that these NFTs will be available for in-game use almost immediately. We strongly believe that games can not only compete for players’ leisure time, but thanks to blockchain technology and digital property rights, they can also compete for players’ productivity, create new job opportunities and change the gaming industry ground up.”
