The Sandbox unveils first-ever pop-up presence in Hong Kong’s silicon valley of culture – K11 MUSEA, paving the way for Alpha Season 3

The Sandbox, a leading decentralized gaming virtual world and subsidiary of Animoca Brands, has unveiled its first-ever pop-up presence in Hong Kong to support the continuing expansion of its user base in the city, already one of its fastest growing markets globally.

Located on the fifth floor of K11 MUSEA in Tsim Sha Tsui, The Sandbox Alpha 3 Atelier will feature workshops led by experienced local design studios, hold in-depth sharing sessions about the metaverse, and showcase creative video content on large display panels. By participating in a range of new experiences, Hong Kong people will be able to play-and-earn in The Sandbox during an extended period this summer.

Visitors to The Sandbox Alpha 3 Atelier who register an account in The Sandbox will be rewarded through regular promotions: 1,000 SAND tokens will be given away every day, Alpha Passes will be distributed, and participants will have a chance to win a 1×1 LAND and an NFT house created by our metaverse studio as their future home in the metaverse.

A packed event schedule features workshops led by local studios such as Index Game, Pangu by Kenal, Metalympics, and UFO School, designed for a range of audiences from school children, university students, adults, and the staff of leading corporate enterprises. The institutions engaged in this programme include: The University of Hong Kong; City University of Hong Kong; the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education; NFT Association of Hong Kong; Rotary Club of Elite Orient; and numerous schools and other educational institutions.

The Sandbox Alpha 3 Atelier will operate as part of the platform’s upcoming Alpha Season 3 launch, which will mark a significant increase in scale for The Sandbox. Over 300 brands and intellectual properties are signed up as partners with The Sandbox, including Warner Music Group, Ubisoft, Gucci Vault, The Walking Dead, Snoop Dogg, Adidas, Deadmau5, Steve Aoki, The Smurfs, Atari, Bored Ape Yacht Club, and World of Women.

Growing momentum for The Sandbox in Asia is reflected in eight distinct experiences featured in The Sandbox Alpha Season 3 developed by creators in Greater China, including the opportunity for fans to interact with their idols such as Hanjin Tan and Nine Chen or revisit historical places with The South China Morning Post.
