Company adds to its 2019 momentum by bringing former NY Congressman Dan Donovan on board to oversee business development for the government and legal industries
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--ShelterZoom, the inventor of Contract of Things™ (CoT™), the next milestone in the evolution of contracts, today announced a partnership with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Professional Realty (BHHS Pro). Headquartered in Mason, Ohio, BHHS Pro is a full-service brokerage with more than $1 billion in annual sales. They will play a major role in scaling ShelterZoom’s reach in Ohio – a key state in the company’s growth plans – by offering among the fastest, most secure and transparent real estate buying and selling platforms in the industry.
This partnership comes as the real estate industry undergoes enormous change fueled by modern technology like blockchain and buyers, sellers and agents who are frustrated with the time-consuming, inefficient and paperwork-heavy process that still permeates the industry. While the majority of sellers and agents have been slow to adjust, forward-thinking brokerages like BHHS Pro are ready to use ShelterZoom's first-to-market Contract of Things platform to transform their contracts and end-to-end transactions into fully digital, interoperable and intelligent assets.
“We’re excited to get started with ShelterZoom’s blockchain-powered platform for buying and selling real estate and managing documents, contracts and transactions. It’s a truly innovative product that resolves many of the hurdles that slow down the transaction process and make it frustrating for agents and buyers alike,” said David Mussari, Managing Partner at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Professional Realty. “For us, it is all about adding value to the process of buying or selling real estate. ShelterZoom’s platform offers the rare ‘win-win’ situation where our agents can better serve their clients by removing the obstacles to buying and selling properties while, simultaneously, their clients enjoy a more transparent, secure and smooth real estate experience.”
Dan Donovan to lead CoT business development in government and legal spaces
Adding to its momentum heading into 2020, the company also announced that Dan Donovan has joined to direct the business development efforts in government and legal for the company’s CoT platform. Donovan, who represented New York's 11th Congressional District from 2015 until earlier this year, is also a former district attorney (Richmond County, NY), deputy borough president (Staten Island) and assistant district attorney (New York County). He will be responsible for new partnerships and revenue growth as CoT formally launches in early 2020.
“Having watched ShelterZoom grow and innovate over the past couple years, I’m thrilled to join them as they move into a groundbreaking new phase with the Contract of Things platform. What excites me most about the platform are the potentially unlimited use cases applicable to almost all industries,” said Donovan. “Coming from a legal background, I can see the immense potential CoT brings to agreements and contracts, which are fundamental elements of society. I’m looking forward to helping businesses and consumers across marketplaces, industries and borders to execute contracts in a new and ingenious way.”
“Dan will be one of the key players contributing to CoT’s aggressive move into multiple industries next year,” said Allen Alishahi, ShelterZoom co-founder and president. “Having known him well for years, I am confident he will bring the right level of dealmaking experience and gravitas to our company. His skills at spotting trends and ability to get things done will be important factors to helping ShelterZoom expand.”
ShelterZoom’s mission is to provide an industry-agnostic, smart-contract-based SaaS platform that transforms records, documents and contracts into fully digital, interoperable and intelligent assets. These digitized assets can “think,” “communicate,” “travel” and “trade.” After winning the 2018 SIIA CODiE Best Emerging Technology Award, which recognizes “high-impact products,” ShelterZoom is delivering to market a first-of-its-kind industry-agnostic platform to evolve contracts to Contract of Things (CoT).
