National Cryptocurrency Association Returns to SXSW to Demystify Crypto for the Masses

March 4, 2026 By Business Wire

Event lineup and “Crypto Confessions” booth unveiled to advance crypto literacy and practical use

AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The National Cryptocurrency Association (NCA), a non-profit organization dedicated to helping Americans understand and use crypto with confidence, is returning to South by Southwest (SXSW) to continue educating consumers and businesses about how they can use crypto - without any of the hype or jargon.

NCA is giving a voice to the one in five U.S. adults (and counting) already using crypto and serving as a trusted resource for the millions of others who are curious about the technology but feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to start. As crypto moves from the headlines to everyday utility, NCA is creating space for honest conversations that help people understand how the technology works and how it fits into real life.

“Real people across the country are relying on crypto to build financial independence, power their businesses and passions, make everyday transactions, and more,” said Ali Tager, VP of External Affairs at the National Cryptocurrency Association. “But many still dismiss or misunderstand what crypto is, how it works, and what they can actually do with it today. At SXSW, we are creating safe spaces for real, accessible conversations that will make sense of crypto, spark curiosity, and inspire confidence as the tool becomes increasingly part of our everyday lives.”

Join the NCA at SXSW and the Fast Company Grill:

  • Mentor Sessions (March 12 at the Hilton, Room 400-402): Attend small-group conversations focused on blockchain, cryptocurrency, fintech, and nonprofits, and gain direct access to expert guidance and networking opportunities.
  • Crypto Curious Meet Up (March 13 at the JW Marriott, Brazos): Join a beginner-friendly conversation that will provide opportunities to ask real questions and meet everyday people using crypto in practical ways.
  • Crypto Confessions Booth (March 13-15 at Cedar Door Bar & Grill; registration required): Step inside a soundproof video and photo booth for a refreshing moment of honesty amid the noise to share your unfiltered thoughts about crypto.
  • Crypto Convergence Panel (March 15 at Cedar Door Bar & Grill; registration required): Learn about crypto’s shift from speculation to utility from Tager, PayPal’s Senior Director of Product Smitha Purohit, and crypto market strategist Karin Kusano.

Beyond SXSW, NCA will continue its work to shine a spotlight on the true picture of crypto across the country, including through research reports, holder spotlights, and educational resources such as the popular weekly podcast “Crypto, Explained.”
