Tassat ® Group Successfully Completes Type 2 SOC 2 Examination, Reaffirming Commitment to Security and Compliance

February 28, 2023 By Business Wire

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Tassat Group, Inc., the leading provider of private blockchain-based business-to-business (B2B) real-time payments and financial services solutions to banks, announced the company successfully passed its 2022 Type 2 SAE 18 SOC 2 Examination.

The Type 2 SOC 2 Examination is a detailed assessment of the controls the organization has implemented around security, confidentiality, and availability of information and systems. Schellman & Company, LLC, an external auditor, conducted the examination which focused on the design and implementation of security controls and processes related to the firm’s TassatPay platform during the period between January 1 and December 31, 2022. Schellman’s examination found that these controls were both well designed and consistently implemented.

“In the tightly regulated world of banking, security and confidentiality are critically important. The TassatPay platform is designed to combine instantaneous, efficient, and intelligent payment capabilities with the highest degree of safety and security,” said Kevin R. Greene, Tassat’s Chairman and CEO. “Our private permissioned blockchain-based technology empowers banks to execute real-time payments and other financial services securely and fully within the U.S. regulatory perimeter.”

The examination reflects the third-party testing results of Tassat’s security controls against the Trust Services Criteria published by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). The Trust Services Criteria and The Type 2 SOC 2 process are the industry gold standard for the assessment of the security of data processing services.

“The Type 2 SOC 2 process is a rigorous examination of a service organization’s operating and data security effectiveness,” said Al Berg, Tassat’s Chief Information Security Officer. “The report also serves to provide a framework to ensure that security is truly embedded in Tassat’s systems and culture. We are committed to perform this examination annually and intend to achieve similar results each year.”

Tassat’s 2022 Type 2 SOC 2 Report is available to Tassat customers as well as prospective customers under a non-disclosure agreement and may be requested from your Tassat Customer Success Representative or security@tassat.com.
