RIVERWOODS, Ill.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--For the third year in a row, Discover has been recognized as a FutureEdge 50 (formerly Digital Edge 50) award winner. This honor awards organizations for pushing the edge with new technologies to advance their business for the future. Discover was recognized for implementing a modernized, cloud-based platform to grow credit card customers. The platform’s forward-thinking design has enabled Discover to fast track the delivery of feature innovations and improve the customer experience.
The goal of this new cloud-native platform is to allow customers to use their Discover credit card when and where they want to use it with no delays. To address customer needs of immediacy, Discover developed a platform to enable an enhanced customer experience and real-time responsiveness. The customer-focused design ensures the beginning of the customer’s journey with Discover is seamless and makes it easier than ever for customers to start enjoying the benefits of their Discover Card.
“We approached this project with the mindset that change is inevitable and architected a platform to help us continuously and easily evolve. At Discover we pursue relentless automation and event-driven design to deliver iteratively through a test and learn approach,” said Sheila Lodhia, vice president of application development for Discover. “The FutureEdge 50 award recognizes our efforts to evolve and improve the end-to-end customer experience through innovation.”
The FutureEdge 50 recognizes the most cutting-edge trials and applications of emerging technologies and the innovative cultures enabling them in business today.
“The organizations in the FutureEdge 50 are doing exciting things that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago. For example, there’s a project using blockchain and quantum computing to establish trust; an indoor navigation system; and many uses of AI/ML for insights and efficiency,” said Anne McCrory, group vice president, customer experience and operations, events, and the FutureEdge and AGENDA20 conference chair. “We are honored to showcase these innovations and many others as we enter into a new era of sophistication with cloud, devices and environments powering the technology-driven business.”
Discover will formally accept the award at the AGENDA20 Conference held March 23 – 25 in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida.
